Cherry was so cute, and she displayed a lot of insecurities that I can definitely identify with. Rick was so real, and I would be hard-pressed to find any woman who wouldn't want a man like him permanently in their life. He was sensitive, caring, and loving, without being a pushover.Susie and Maxie were good for Cherry, except for one thing: Giving her advice to sleep with a prostitute.
That was six feet BELOW good advice and morality. What kind of real friends do that?!
Annabelle should have been throttled by her mother in front of everyone, but I have a feeling that was done, as they say, 'off camera.'
The things that I take offense to were the insane use of vulgarity in just about every sentence! The constant streaming of thoughts regarding sex - I get its a romance novel, but build the love on something more substantial, good grief - and the flaky attempt to include a gay person in the story.
Reality doesn't always have to be in every single story!!!! A lot of proofreading was needed.
And what's with everyone of Ms. Verdenius' characters loving Diet Coke and cats?! Don't get me wrong, I love cats, but do they have to be in EVERY story? Just asking.
Other than that, I did like this story.

Thoroughly enjoyable
Very sweet and romantic and entirely believeable and easy to relate to.
The writers style is easy to follow and her story telling abilities are beyond awesome.
Laugh out loud moments, some easy flirty banter and some spicy sexy scenes.
Cherry is lovable and has some fiesty in her that eventually comes out.
Rick is a great character and had some really good lines
As a couple I really enjoyed how they grew and the akwardness of Cherry and the assertiveness of Rick. They complimented each other.
All up a really sweet story that is thoroughly engaging from start to finish. I will be continuing on with this series
It was a DNF for me. After a reasonably strong start, but at the 34% mark I just couldn't continue.

The main problem was the heroine. For some utterly unknown reason she turned into a stark raving cow. Rude, surely, aggressive and openly hostile, for absolutely NO REASON WHATEVER.
Baring that in mind, it is equally confounding why the hero decided he must have her for his wife. Despite the fact that he doesn't know her, she wont give him the time of day, and she's absolutely awful.
I assume the author wanted to show just how built up her walls were, and just how dedicated and genuine the hero was to want to take the time to break them down...but it was all just a bit too much IMO. Neither of them were believable and I lost interest.
I came upon this book by accident and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I've read a lot of romance books, but not many of them are about a plus sized heroine, so that was a bit refreshing to me. I liked how the book was written. I figured the author was not American when some of her dialogue was different. But it wasn't hard to follow at all and it was kind of refreshing. Ok, back to the book......this is the story of Cherry, who is a plus sized nurse. As a woman who is not thin, I could relate to some of the concerns Cherry had about herself. Cherry was full of insecurities, especially after being made fun of her entire life. At 35, she was tired of being a virgin and she was hoping to find someone to "deflower" her. At her friends suggestion, she calls an escort service and hires one for the night. While she waits in the motel nervously, someone comes into the room. This person was beautiful, like a greek adonis and a bit tipsy. She didn't question him too much and they soon find themselves doing the horizontal.
When Rick arrived at his hotel room, he couldn't believe his eyes and the beautiful woman waiting for him. He was a bit intoxicated, but he was still aware of how attractive this woman was, with all her curves and that look of innocence. He decides to live a little and lets loose by getting involved with this beautiful girl. When he wakes up, she was nowhere to be found and he soon realizes he was in the wrong room and he had just slept with a virgin.
Cherry went to work feeling happy thinking that her experience last night was incredible, considering it was her first time. She gets the shock of her life when she finds out that the person she hired was never at the hotel due to an accident,so she realized she slept with a total stranger. Story gets more interesting when both characters find themselves face to face. They work at the same hospital, he was a doctor and she was the nurse. And so the story goes.....
Story was really sweet. Rick's character was great, I totally loved him, he was so mature and knew what he wanted from the beginning. Cherry's character was a bit difficult at times. I wanted to smack her upside her head. She seemed so confident at work, yet in her personal life, her confidence level was none. Rick seemed to work so hard to make their relationship work. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this book. The romance was steamy to say the least, but the underlying message was the best beauty is in the eye of the beholder and usually comes from the inside out.
Love this story, while we have the characters falling in love. The author doesn't shy away from Cherry's feeling about her weight, she tackles it and she doesn't write it away, doesn't have the character losing weight in order for her man to really love her, her man loves her just the way she is and helps he love herself for who she is as well. Definitely read this and I'll add this to my will read multiple times list!
